Yes this is heather awens work wonderfully written, and I think it's really fantastic to see bioregional animism being written about by others over the years, I'm particularly fond of heathers blog adventures in animism, she's spot on!

i was part of your forum on tribe.net a million years ago. i have checked in on your blog now and again and always find it to be inspiring. but this post....not only inspiring, but fueling and invigorating too.

i'm an mft intern with holos institute in the bay area. we are ecopsychology focused, and i recently have begun taking clients out into nature (spaces where there is a welcoming and a sense of wholeness.)

even though all of us at the institute are healers and activists, we are also often burned out, and there does seem to be a culture of "i need to get out to nature so i can be rejuvenated" but little talk of "what can i give back". i'm going to forward this post to my colleagues as a reminder of what we are really doing.

for me, this is the shot in the arm i have been needing...just taking clients outdoors has still seemed to be missing something. years ago, i wanted to do wildlife rehab with at risk kids, sensing that as they healed wild creatures, they would also be healing themselves. there is an aspect of this that has been reawakened with your post. i'm excited to feel back on track.
